Politics: “The past is the future” – Morocco is the first and only country in the Middle East and North Africa to date in which an independent commission for the investigation of human rights violations has been set up. The exhibition of cartoons by Moroccan artist Mohamed Nadrani who became a victim of the so-called “years of lead” provided a further approach to the topic.
Youth: “L.E.VIEW” – Young people from immigrant families and from mainstream society used disposable cameras to take photos of their personal everyday lives in the east of Leipzig and subsequently organised an exhibition of their work. The pictures and their joint work enabled them to gain insights into the lives of others and to gain a greater understanding of each other. The project was awarded a media prize.
